Laura Walker State Park - June 19, 2010

Jerry and Ms. Georgia
We have owned several other campers, but some of the equipment and the care of the Casita is different. We felt it was best not to venture to far on our first outing. Laura Walker State Park is only about an hour from home. This would allow us the opportunity to become comfortable with all our little egg & this is one of our favorite parks for camping.

Laura Walker is located near Waycross, GA, and feathers a very nice golf course, a large lake for boating/fishing, hiking trails, two bathhouses and a friendly staff. It is located just across from the entrance to Okefenokee Swamp which offers boat tours of the swamp, train rides, country store, animal shows & lost of alligators.

The weather was warm and sunny when we arrived at our site which was just across the street from the lake.  We became acquainted with our neighbors, the Kaufmans. A short time later our previously owned Dutchman Camper, which we sold to a couple from FL, pulled in a couple of campsites away.
The Dutchman (before we sold it)
We spent a lot of time walking Ms. Georgia, our Golden Retriever, sitting outside playing games, and visiting with new friends. We are so pleased with everything about our camper and will use as often as we can. No grass will grow under the tires of this Casita! Our only snafu was when we tried to empty the holding tanks, which didn't seem to be draining. It seems we forgot on a Casita you have to rotate the drain downward. This is not required on other trailers, but is was not a big deal. We are very happy campers!!!
